our new "farm" at camp fire

our garden plot is weeded, amended and new plants are in!! stop by and check it out sometime!! we need everyone to help with watering so if you are passing by and have a minute, stop and spray a little water over our new plants and seeds. use a light spray, the plants are very fragile but need lots of water to get strong roots. thanks to everyone who came out and helped, we did a great job!! we planted sugar snap peas, rosemary, cabbage and onions. i threw in some carrot, beet, chard and squash seeds too. we will be taking over the area that runs next to our plot, inside the gate along the building so get ready for more weed pulling!!

camp shiwaka 2011
Monday: Arrive at 8:45am, camp starts at 9am
Bring a sack lunch (monday only)
You need a "ditty bag" (kits available at the council store, please sew it BEFORE you arrive, let me know if you need help) and a "sit upon" Please put a plastic plate, bowl, cup, fork, knife, spoon inside the ditty bag. Make sure your name is clearly written on both the ditty bag and sit upon. (fyi a "ditty bag" is a bag made out of two dish clothes sewn together to make a sack with a drawstring closure. the dishes are washed inside the ditty bag after meals) "sit upon" kits can also be purchased at the council. If they are all out, there are spare carpet swatches the kids can use at camp so don't worry. I was thinking we might make some new ones this year at one of our meetings.
Ditty bags and sit upons can stay at camp all week
