Happy New Year!!

coming up:

Tuesday Jan 11th Candy Sale Kick-off at the Armory 2200 Redondo Ave, Long Beach
5:45 set up, starts at 6pm to 8pm
the kids will learn all about candy sales and the parents can have a mini parent meeting. this is a VERY important event, please plan on attending to get all the info regarding candy sales this year. I am the candy chair for the group and will be very busy, this is the time to ask questions and discuss the next few months of meetings and events.

As of Jan 1st 2011 we still need: 2 salads, 2 side dishes for the candy sale kickoff. thank you to everyone who responded already, you guys are amazing!!!
email if you can bring a dish to share

Candy sales begin Friday Jan 14th Please drop off money to me in an envelope (with your name written on envelope please) in my mailbox once a week if possible during candy sales. i need to make a weekly deposit or we will be docked money off our final commission. Sign up sheets for the sell locations will be available at the candy sale kick off and i will post them on the blog. please check the blog often and double check what you have signed up for. We need to share the table and "candy box" so be aware of who you are selling with and who had the box before you. you can call each other and carpool, switch and swap dates and work together in as many creative ways as possible. you dont need to inform me as long as slots are covered without big holes that could have been filled by another kid.

******* remember: CANDY SALES IS PART OF CAMP FIRE'S CURRICULUM... parents shouldn't feel the burden of selling all the candy, let your kid do it. just get them to a few sell dates and let them socialize with their buddies. this is how our group will stay strong, by letting the kids work together and feel the responsibility (and PRIDE at a job well done) to sell their candy. Camp fire runs almost exclusively on candy sale money, so let the kids raise the money and feel good about it. usually it takes 3 to 4 sale events plus a little family/friends selling to get rid of the minimum required candy. sign up for at least 3 or 4 and check the blog for open slots to add if you feel the candy isn't selling quick enough. you can do it!!! (end of speech, ha ha!)
